Meet Casi Godschalx, a Solar Installer Coordinator in Byron, and first up in our monthly Smart Energy Group employee interviews. Miss Godschalx (pronounced God-shocks) is the one that coordinates every part of the install process to make sure it all runs smoothly. Casi is full of contradictions, being the resident sweetheart and hard arse all at once. When she’s not working late at the office she can be found at the Bruns River after work or learning to surf on her new board.

Where did you grow up?

On the Gold Coast. It was really special growing up surrounded by beaches and national parks. We spent a lot of time outdoors so I grew to love nature and appreciate our beautiful world.

What do you love about where you live now?

I live in Brunswick Heads and it’s my favourite place on earth because it’s small, untouched and has a great community vibe.

Why did you get into solar?

I’m really passionate about the environment, and I moved to the northern rivers wanting to study environmental science so it seemed like the perfect job.

When did you start working for Smart Energy Group?

I started in July 2017 and it’s been great. I’ve learnt so much about the impact of solar panels for individuals and the community.

Why is solar important?

It’s safe and clean for the environment. Why not use pure energy from our sun?

What are your 2018 goals?

To do more exercise and read fifteen books by the end of the year.
